Hi all,

In my TFSI the 'you have left your headlights on' warning beep only comes on when you leave you sidelights on and not your dipped headlights. i was told by the dealer this is normal, and they turn off after a few minutes.

Is it just me or is this really silly? I seem to leave my headlights on everytime I leave the car now!

It's the 'coming home' function, so you can light the front door of your house until you get in. We park the Altea at the side so it's no use, but I think I'd always be checking to make sure they'd gone off. Don't know if you can disable the coming home function (think there's something about set-up in the manual), but even if it was disabled I'm not sure if the warning buzzer would work on the dipped as well as the sidelights. Personally, I'd rather have a 'lights on' warning than 'coming home'.

Yep, the dealer is right. Its the 'Coming home' feature. The cars headlights will stay on for a short period and then shut off automatically.

It's designed to light up your drive as you walk to the door so you don't trip over stuff. Great it you actually park you car facing your door!

Damn got beat to it!!

Call me a pervert but I'm one of the few people in the world that is simple minded enough to put my car in the garage instead of filling it full of "really useful stuff we might need again one day soon".

Quite earie looking back at the garage and seeing it framed by light for 5 mins or so :scary:

So you get home with the lights on, turn the ignition off and they stay on for a few minutes:doh: Is that right?

On a previous car i had with 'follow me home' lights you had to flick the full beam to activate them - so you could choose to use them or not.

Getting ready for the shouts at Tescos of 'your lights are on mate';)

Mmmmmm! I guess the way round it is to turn the lights off before the engine!
