Headlight Covers Interfere with Bonnet

As much as I hate these things, I bought a pair of Seat headlight covers to protect my Xenon units.

Having fitted them correctly however, the left hand cover doesn't allow the bonnet to sit flush to the wing. It catches the top edge of the cover.
The right hand one is ok, but still makes contact with the bonnet.

When dropping the bonnet gently shut, the left cover pops forward, so it's a case of pushing it back in to position.
Having done all that, the front edge of the bonnet clearly doesn't sit right.

Has anybody had success with these things on the Mk2 Leon?

Hi

I have these fitted to my MkII Leon. I had to adjust the bonnet at the front to allow it to close correctly.

Just open the bonnet and unscrew the round rubber stops until you can close the bonnet. There will be a gap along the front edge of the bonnet but it takes the pressure off the cover.

I had adjusted the rubbers right down as the problem is, the covers are in effect pushing the bonnet up (preventing the bonnet to sit flush).

I guess I shall just have to live with it, I just didn't want any undue pressure sitting on the top of the original lights.

By the way, I really miss the hydraulic bonnet stay that I have on my Mk1 Cupra.
Might be worth a mod if there is one.:D

That would be a nicer option I think.

How 'clear' is that film? I mean, are you able to tell it has a film over them. (is it obvious, without close inspection?)

Secondly, where can I get some, and at what cost?

Sorry for the inquisition!!;)

:lol:Hi njg no you cant tell at all it is optically clear and covers all of lamp area, safe on xenons to which i have. Halfords do sell sheets of the film on a roll or do sell kits for some models but not sure they do ours, can be cut to shape easly with a craft knife tho. Had a guy do the complete front of my leon all bonnet area, bumper, front fog lights, up front pilliers and part top section of roof above glass as can be prone to stone chips. All in come to £400 fitted tho well worth it as on m way alot and cars candy white!!!! :D
