Head unit turns itself on...

I have a mk3 ibiza with the all in one HU in the centre console. All was well until recently - now the HU turns itself on after about 3 seconds after switching it off. I've had to pull the fuse for the moment so the battery doesn't go flat, but then I lose the heater controls. Has any one got ANY ideas??

The head unit controls a fair bit of kit in the car, from the A/C to driving the display, plus the actual radio functions! - they're quite complicated - maybe it's broken. Mine was, but I don't think internal faults with the head units are that common.

If you remove the fascia panel (2 screws in bottom corners, then it pops out) you will see a ribbon cable with a male/female connector block - it might be worth making sure this is connected and making contact, just as a formality!

I've had to pull the fuse on mine, the fascia panel WILL NOT turn off... it remains illuminated??? Any ideas?

Did you manage to fix this? I've got exactly the same problem!

Hey, I have the same problem on my Cordoba Vario. Every time I park my car I pull off the front panel and disconnect the cable that was mentioned earlier in this thread. Annoying!!
Does anybody know about a solution to this that does not include me sending my front panel to england? I've heard tales about DIY-kits being sold on ebay..

First post, welcome to me!
