Head Unit Replacement - Cabel Space

Hey

Ive replaced the head unit in the Ibiza with a Sony one.

Trouble is, im also adding a Nokia Handsfree kit, and an Ipod interface.

Im having real trouble trying to get the cables and box's back into the dash!!

Is there any space behind the glove box for some of it, or some other cunning palce to hide stuff.

Mark.

The cables for ipod will go behind the dashboard barrier/metal support and in the headunit, its a tight squueze and takes some fiddling...

Take the lower shelf (under or above the headunit?) out and you'll be able to fiddle with it easier.

Ipod sits in glovebox nicely!

Thanks for that - Ill have a play tonight.

The bloody Nokia kit has 2 massive control boxes that i need to cram in somewhere.... Can you get a blank plate for the lower shelf?

Pass!

I have a double din headunit so got rid of the silly box!

They might fit under the glovebox, my mate fits Headunits and alarms for a living, i'll ask him later!

Update

If you remove the 6 screws holding the top part of the glove box on, which is also the passenger airbag disable switch, there is a MASSIVE void to the right of the glovebox and the left of the head unit space. Ive managed to fit my whole install into there. Handsfree kit with 2 massive control box's, about a mile of cable, and an Ipod interface for her Sony Head Unit.

All in all a good evening. And i only cut myself 4 times on the dash internals!
