Head unit/radio with DAB

Hi

I've not been able to find a definitive answer for this, but is there a recommended head unit/radio with DAB and Bluetooth that I can upgrade to in my Seat Leon MK II? Is it easy to do if so?

Thanks

Yea, fit the RNS-315, it's DAB+ and the bluetooth module is built in. Will need a DAB Ariel and a sat nav antennae, but they're cheap enough.

If you car currently doesn't have hands free, you'll need a microphone obviously.

I am looking to maybe do the same. New to the forum but I was wondering if you did replace the HU in the end? I noticed the RNS-315 is quite a bit dearer then previous units - I am not sure but I think I have a RCD310 in my Leon 2011 - my issues is though I have the bluetooth, I cannot stream NAV or music from my iphone - something we have gotten used to in my own car which is a Skoda 1.4 tsi 2017.

Are there any previous HU where I can stream music - I read through some older posts but was not sure in the end what the easiest fix would be - I am not that techie though I did manage to fit a retro solution for a MAZDA 3 which we just scrapped and replaced with the 2011 Leon!

I'll maybe bump one of the older posts to see if a solution for my situation has been finally fixed easily by someone as I would quite like the option to stream. My HU does not have a BT-AUDIO option but I may have read somewhere else here that I maybe just need to reconnect the BT UNIT under the drivers seat? Or upgrade that itself (though that looks like that costs a bit too. Or use VCDS - I think I may still have that as I used to have a B5 Passat years ago.

Any help gratefully received

Nobody wants to hear it and seem to have a total misconception that it requires you to use Google maps for navigation but I think a decent Android headunit for DAB, Bluetooth, navigation and MP3 blows away the sad OEM solutions. I have one and I would never go back to a non-android solution.

Might just go with the most basic solution and use the aux cable! It works for music and for getting Nav instructions. Just is not linked to iPhone use for calls. But it streams music and Nav just fine.

When it came out it was top drawer stuff. It integrated Bluetooth, DAB+ and GPS into one unit, but also into the same size as previous systems.
So not only was it a good unit for new vehicles, it was an excellent retrofit for loads of existing models.

That was not far off 15 years ago, and obviously technology moves on. It can't match modern equipment, but as a drop in solution it's still decent.

On my Android unit for GPS navigation I use Sygic (£10 for a permanent licence with quarterly map updates) - doesn't the OEM one charge more than the cost of a headunit for a map update? I just don't get it - plus it looks like it was designed in 1973.

I paid £25 for the map update last year, probably the last one considering the age of the unit. I do wonder if any other OEMs are still producing map updates for sat nav systems from the 2000's???

Having used a Vauxhall unit from the early 2010's, the RNS sat nav is tons better.
