Head unit problems

Just bought a new head unit and when i turn the car off the unit resets, all my settings are lost. anyone know why it does this? the ariel for the radio is not plugged in because i dont have an adaptor for it yet, could this be anything to do with it?

swap the bullet connectors for the red and yellow

Sorry mate might be being a bit thick here but could you explain what you mean?

Had a read through some of the other threads now, took the unit out and swapped the yellow and red wires from the head unit loom, they were just bullet connectors so was easy enough. Cheers
