Hi

i have a 54 Altea 1.6 Refernce an i have just installed a Pioneer DHU-1420UB but i cannot get it to power on. the head unit works fine in another car but not in mine i have also tried another head unit wich again works fine in other cars but not mine. this one will light up and appear to power on but will not respone to any buttons. i have used this ISO connector (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PC2-75-4-...2?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item25682dd602). i am completely stumped i have no idea what the problem is.

al;so the original factory fit head unit works fine

hey the altea uses canbus for controlling various applications as such ie radio/wipers/lights etc.the adapter harness you bought does not change these signals there for the head unit is not recieving a switched live supply.you can buy an adapter that reads the cunbus signals, or you can take a switched feed off the climate control unit above if you know what you are doing.hope this can help.

Yea you need a Connect2 Box.

The standard stereo is clever enough to switch the power off when teh ignition is off.

These cost about £35
