Every place is different mate. the head gasket is not much but labour pushes the price up. also depends on what engine you have to how much work is needed to remove the head???

and if youve damaged the head,

what makes you think its the headgasket that has gone??

where are you based?

If you can find one, it could work out a lot cheaper to get a second-hand engine and swap over.

Based in cornwall. Thankfully it only turned out to be a damaged water pump which was a nice surprise as convinced it was the head. So was 3hours work instead of 6 or so.

On the whole its running lovely but if left for a few days its really hard to start and when driving the engine seems to miss fire at low revs but these problems seem to iron out after about 15 min into the journey.

Its had recent service and DC cap so not sure what else it could be. Any advice would be great.

Cheers now JPH
