Right, little update for you all. The car is fixed and im so glad to have her back!

Turns out to have been the turbo all along! The garage fitted a new one under warantee for me :D

Seems a bit odd tho...it was only 10 months old!

Oh and one other thing...she is absolutely flying!!! I know i've been without her for a few days, but crikey! They remap was set to "stock" settings before i took the car into the garage, and on the way home yesterday, i swear it feels so quick its like the remap is on "performance" mode!

I was so sure i wanted confirmation, so took one of my mates out, who has a corrado g60, and has been in mine very reguarly...and even he says its as tho the map is still on!

Is there any way that the map could have reverted back to the "performance" mode? It appears they disconnected the battery, as my stereo lost all its settings etc.

The other thing, do you guys rekon its the map thats caused the short lifespan of the turbo? If so, i don't want it to happen again, and am reluctant to turn it back on...but i thought revo were meant to be maps "safe" for standard parts?

Any comments/advice welcom

Good old Revo :)

Limit the torque through the range mate, or lower it, 301 lb ft is bit too much for stock clutch and turbo, especially if you drive it like you stole it...

i rang revo earlier today, and told them what i know...and they still say it's doubtful that it was down to the remap, as otherwise there would be a lot more unhappy pd130 owners all with the same problems!

so..remap will be turned "on" in a matter of seconds lol

it looks like it was a fault either from manufacturing, or from lack of oil getting to the turbo, so i will make sure i really warm her up and cool her down properly. I thought i was already, but it's always possible i didn't do it well enough i guess.

You're quite lucky to get it done under warranty, or I'm just not lucky as my Fabia vRS blew its turbo last week and Skoda refuse to cover it due to lack of oil in the engine, which they are blaming on me neglecting the car. Seat are obviously not as tight. The dealer told me he said the car isn't standard and has a new exhaust, suspension and air intake and that was enough for them to refuse. All the cars that I've found that have had this problem have all been done under warranty, but it seems Skoda are tightening up or looking for easy ways out. Good to see a manufacturer honouring the warranty the way it should be.

Mine has a 'mild' map and I drive it quite hard, not all the time, just most of the time, when there's no traffic, off slip roads etc etc but I always warm it up to 90 degree oil and engine before booting it, this takes a while sometimes...

wel tbh mine was low on oil for a while actually...so i rekon it may have been that.

ad lav- i also warm mine up properly and cool it down properly too...its not down to the map, apparently it happens to a lot of the mk5 golfs too. even non mapped ones

1st hybrid turbo i had was second hand off devonmikeyboy's rolled cupra, that cost me £500, great i thought, got it checked out by allards etc, yep all good to go. Got it fitted, swapped the map from his ecu aswell and away i went :D 2 days later turbo was dead  bolts had snapped on the manifold allowing the exhaust gasses to leak and the veins to sieze. So dilema time, i didnt have the money to buy a new one and didnt want to go back to standard turbo. Got my cc out and paid for a brand new one :D £800 please, that was awsome afterwards, sooo much stronger and faster in terms of speed, month and a half later and i decided to do 145 for maybe 5-10 minutes, got to the end, ****ed it round an ireland undertaking someone on full load, oil surge and that was that turbo gone. But boy did it go in style, white smoke pileing out the exhaust  Allards replaced that under warranty luckily as i didnt tell them the whole truth :hide: new turbo went on and they turned the boost down this time, and it was noticable, wasnt as fast :( but the turbo did last another 10 months with a few 140+ blasts and lots of abuse on the roads. The day it crashed it was also having its last full steam ahead blast, then i crashed and killed the car :(

Absolutly gutted i dont have it any more, but so happy to be alive and to have had the privalige of driving such a wicked car :D

RIP

So are we saying then that if you get ya standard FR remapped to stage 1 then its just a matter of time before the turbo gets knackard or the oem parts need replacing?

This is the thing stopping me from getting revo'd, i dont wanna fuk up my car!

It hasnt even had its 1st service yet :/
