Hardwiring Brodit PDA Mount

I have a Brodit mount for my v1605 which has the new molex style hardwire option.

Can anyone offer advice as to the best place to tap for 12v power and the best means (connector etc.) of achieving this?

FYI the wires on the molex adapter are very thin.

Also I have removed the head unit as per the guide on this forum; when trying to re-insert the unit I am having to push 'really' hard. Is this normal? Or have I got something wrong?

TIA.

Dan.

I did something similar over the weekend.

I had my Road Angel & Sat Nav I wanted to hardwire in, so the easiest thing to do was to get a 4 in 1 12v ciggie socket, cut the end off (the male bit), then wired it up to the 12V switched power supply under the dash.

I mounted the 4 x sockets under the dash, and now just plug the other bits straight into it out of sight. I have 2 more spare if ever I need them !!

Yes you are! This means that the cables connected to the back of the HU are not going back down the holes. You need to help feed them in, so that when you push the HU back into place it should slide and click effortlessly.
