Handsfree

Morning again everyone!

Looking for your opinion on handfree kits for the Ibiza. Looking for one with good microphone reception, which runs thru the stereo speakers and auto-mutes, which allows voice recognition dialling including dialing by numbers, and looks somewhat special againing the red interior of the facelift ibiza. All for £80 - £125.

The challenge is set, the bar is raised. Let me know your experiences.

Cheers,
Si

The Parrot CK3100 was the one I was looking at the other day. It seems to be the only one providing all the functionality for a good price.

How easy are they to install? It is easy enough to hide the wires in the Ibiza. Lets face it, it's gotta be asthetically pleasing too! ;) Can someone with very basic ICE install experience set one of these bad-boys up?

LOL! Your point is well made Fester.

What about the power supply, where does that link into? Ignition loom? Remote stereo output? Is it easy enough to hide the wiring. Baring in mind this is my brand-new baby car (less than a week old), I have pure fear of removing panels at this early stage. Are they pretty straight forward to remove on the Ibiza. No easily broken yet vital plastic clips etc?

IIRC it all links into ISO stereo plugs, assuming your car has ISO plugs that connect to the stereo it should be a simple straight forward fit.

When i say "YES" i am referring to the wiring and connection of the Parrot kit NOT the removal of panels to gain access - easy enough on the Leon but i'd ask someone with an ibiza about that bit :)

basically, pull your car radio out, disconnect the 2 plugs in the back, connect the parrots loom in series, thread the mic and the display cable, plug the mute lead in, re install stereo. job done :)

its very simple, no cutting at all and can be put back to standard very easilly

Hardest bit is routing the mic (bit of trim pulling if you fancy sticking up by the interior light) and putting the control unit somewhere (I have it clipped to one of the central vents).

yup I've got the hcb-300 and it is fantastic

I've had it for just over 2 years and it's never failed to connect with my d600

top bit of kit but I found the little speaker that comes with it is better than your head unit as it is tuned for voices

You asking me Al? Seeing as my trim has been off most of the car for the last 6 months then the cable to the display is just dangling there, it doesn't bother me.

i got nokia ck 7w in both cars, great sound thro stereo, also uses bluetooth for mp3 player :)
easy fit as already mentioned above :)

Hey there guys and girls!

I went with the Parrot CK3100 and installed her yesterday. The most complicated part was setting up the stand and finding enough space to stuff the meters of wire!!! Looks good, sounds fantastic. Only prob is I've disconnected the radio from the battery (obviously) and only realise afterwards that Sidlow had neglected to provide me with the radio code! Poor!!! Now I'm stereo-less but so far I've phoned every friend in my phone book!

Anywho, hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Fitted chrome wing-mirror covers, air-vent and gear level surrounds and replacement demarked grill also! They all look fantastic. May I recommend the wing mirror covers especially. The make it look incredible!

Take care!
