just wondered what peoples thoughts were on the best handling set up for a mk3 ibza cupra?
i want to go for some coilovers but unsure of which ones
and same with arbs, strut braces etc .. which are the best to go for

i want it set up for fast road use not track (for the time being lol )

what ever you decide to get, dont listen to any monkeys that suggest FK coilovers to you as the best. they are a good budget coil over system but adjustability is the only real benefit. Performance wise they are fairly poor and its a shame the ride is so harsh for the performance you gain.

if you want the best suspension on a budget then I'd suggest a bilstein spring & shock combo, or use eibach springs
if your pockets are lined with gold thread, then a kw coilover kit might be worth looking into, v1 or perhaps v2

a Seat Sport upper strut bar is a nice cosmetic touch but doesn't make a great deal of difference.
and an eibach or neuspeed front arb will massively reduce body roll but this ultimately leads to a harsher ride in theory

i believe lowering 40mm all round is the best comprimise. But dampening is key. Putting arb(anti roll bars) and strut braces on the back are all well and good, for keeping the chassis stiff, but is that what you want? I mean it will oversteer like a s14 driftspec. Id go with getting some front arbs, doesnt matter which really, Strutbraces on the front dont really do that much in my experience, but stick one on anyway they are cheap.

Consider gettting the front seem welded. This is supposed to be amazing!

Im not too sure where you can get the shizzle from but fully poly bushing it is supposed to be good too.

thanks for the help seam welding the chassis seems a little hardcore for me lol

i had a seat sport front strut brace on my last cupra (only chassis mod ) and didnt really seem to do a lot like you say.

how do the mk3 cupras handle on the track with the solid rear beam axle ?

I wouldnt know. But it will be down to the person. For instance Jerermy Clarkson says alot of things we would disagree with about certain cars attributes. Its down to personal preferance. Why not have a go?

i plan to in the future mate just wondered of anyones personal experiences on the track

they can handle almost as good as the next car, its not fantastic, it doesnt feel like its always on rails, but you can push the chassis fairly well. then again while suspension mods might be what people always jump to first....

decent set of rubber has just as big an effect

and ofcourse...how much bottle the drivers got

another beneficial mod is rear spacers.read up on em to see if you fancy them, in short, the rear track is too narrow, 15mm spacers either side counter act this and make it feel more planted

I've got KW v1's, rear ARB, front strut brace and 15mm rear spacers and it handles very well on track IMO.
I've now orderd front ARB and rear strut brace and viboteck wish bone bushes.

NOTE no one makes a rear ARB for are cars and you have to make a "L" bracket IIRC.

ARB's and good coilovers will see you good IMO.

Theyre still the same Ollie, just drilling the beam is easier than making brackets
