hi peeps,

Over the last few months or so ive had a few things done to my car and since them it doesn't seem to ride or handle as well.....

Ive had brakes discs and pads all round done......and then i had to have a new hub and wheel bearing done on passenger side.......

Ive had a sprint booster fitted (which will be going up for sale once i take it off) and thats really abotu it...

Now the car doesn't seem to handle so well, it has eagle f1's on the front and they still have a fair amount of treat on them, but the front seems to be "crashy" over bumps...

could any of my bushes be now knacered? maybe shocks have been done in? done 48k on original suspension....

you can see the mods i have from my sig.....

anyone any ideas apart from just stick in the garage with those symptoms?

Help appreciated......

Rich

Easy way to test if the shocks have gone is to go to my arch of the car and put your body weight on it. If it goes down really easy then its gone.

To me sounds like your bushes are shot.

Suspension is one of those things dependant on how well the car has been treated, how much use the car has gone, type of roads you usually drive on and so forth. At 40000 miles the suspension should really be ok in my opinion.

ALSO Rich, does the suspension really creek?

suspension isn't creaking, but i am getting a knocking on some speed humps when i come down off one....which made me think.....

dunno just doesn't se4em to handle as well or ride bumps as well as it did....its odd......

yeah il see how easy the shocks go down on front wings and see how it goes, they probably fine, can't see them leaking or a knacered spring or nowt......

I think its bushes mate, i really do.

The standard rubber bushes tend to crack over time and that's when you get the harshness over bumps; the handling then wont seem right.

ALSO check your tyre pressures!

Well there is no point getting standard bushes again. I would go for powerflex bushes and reap the benefits from them. :)

i would be careful though, might find that changing the bushes for powerflex ones can make the ride harsh. changed a load of bushes on my previous car and shook my bloody teeth out, but i cant comment on what they are like on a cupra so il wait for your opinion on them ;)
