HandBrake problem

Hi folks

Got a 1.2 Ibiza 05 plate and this morning pulled handbrake on and it wouldn't engage, there was tension in the handle but it wouldn't click on, so had to do a lot of jumping from brake to accelerator, didn't want to ride clutch for 15 mins, got to work and pulled it up really high and it engaged but it seems higher than before. Any ideas, would this be a warranty claim or would I have to pay if I took it to Seat, warranty runs out March

Cheers

Thanks chaps got it booked in this Saturday, read handbook and it says don't push button in on handbrake when pulling on only when taking handbrake off, I've always pushed button in, either way it should engage so something is slipping or not cathching correctly.

Thanks

Andrew

I've always pushed the button and have heard people saying you should do that for as long as I can remember to save the ratchet from failing....maybe it's the Spanish way to not worry about important things like that.

Definitely a warranty claim tho.
