handbrake mods

what mods can i do to my handbrake its a sport handbrake which makes no difference its just black with a black button - when i sat in a sport the other day in the seat showroom that had a chrome button looked loads smater but not to bothered about stripping me handbrake just to change the button!

so what other mods are available - looking at a new handbrake if possible eg a cupra one or one with stitching or a brushed alluminium one

please help and pics would be a great idea

Ive had a Cupra handbrake cover on my 05 plate FR TDi for several years.

05 plate several years its only 2007 lol so 2 yr how much are they? have they got the red stitching ? i have a crono ibiza and cant see the red stitching going well your thoughts are welcome

The Cupra one which is leather with red stitching is less than £10 from the dealership... if you wanted to keep an OEM look.

yeh is it hard to fit? just fitted a gear knob had an argument with the gaiter falling away from it damn thing!

Guinness il be looking forward to some pics of all your mods saw the list you posted the other week which gave me ideas love to see all the bits you've done

oh god tell me about it the gaiter is a nightmare, i had to get out there with the needle and thread and stitch the gaiter up tight so it would fit under the sparco gear knob, has done the job i must say

so how do you go about changing the handbrake cover then cause its not got a gaiter as such has it its just all plastic, is there a nack to it?

I was kaning my mates mini on the spineroad and went under an underpass with a police van at about 84. Hoping my seriously harsh breaking worked lol. It was dark and I couldnt see him must say

and as for changing handbrake there is a clip underneith u pull down and the whole thing slides off as one piece

haha, i didnt go that far!
i put a momo one on it was usually about £50 but halfrauds had it on at £26 same as their crap ones, got it home and all the plastic adapter bits and stuff werent there, went back and moaned and got them!I havent driven it much since so il see if the gaitor falls down!

Any Cupra owners reading this can they post pic's up of there handbrake and gear gator.

Since getting Momo sport gearnob may aswel get a few neat touche's 2 finish the inside off
