Handbrake light flashing!!

Hi peeps,

I was driving the other day and my handbrake light started flashing and then stopped after a minute. Then again the next day out driving it flashes on and off a couple of times again!! Any ideas as to what this could be?

Also i get a screeching (spelling) noise when turning left any idea what this could be and are the 2 problems likely to be connected??

dont really know what it could be, but i had a similar problem in my last car. the handbrake light would flash, checked everything and it ended up being the brake fluid was low.

maybe worth a look?

Pads are low on one side by the sounds of things.

i agree on the brake fluid one, i had the same problem i topped up, cleaned out the gunge around the sensor and all was ok

is the brake fluid low?

Thanks for replies, i had my front pads replaced yesterday so hopefully this will cure the problem. Fluid is apparently fine and not low. Just have to wait and see now if light flashes up again now that pads have been changed.
