Has anyone had a bluetooth car kit fitted by Halfords? They've quoted me £69.99 fitted which seems extremely cheap, my local ICE specialist has quoted £200 for a Nokia kit. The Halfords kit is made by Pama, are these any good, as they both seem similar in fucntionality? I am aware there is a very good Parrott kit available, but this is another £50 again at £250. My work will pay the first £70 quid towards it as they want us to use bluetooth headsets, I just can't bring myself to wearing one! So the Halfords one is looking like a good option to me, just want to check it's not completely useless first...

It would be used with a Nokia 6230i and a Nokia N70... Is the quality there witht the voice? I don't want a kit where no one can hear what I'm saying or I can't hear them...

Got one fitted into my Ibiza as I have a mate who works there. Sounds quality is very good tbh and it's dirt cheap.

I recommend it!

I've been looking at car kits and found the Nokia CK-7w and Parrot CK3100 to fulfill my needs the are priced between £65 & £80. The nokia you need a seperate telemute lead so the sound comes out of the speakers and it mutes the radio, this lead also has power cables for the car kit to plug into and fits between the car wiring and the HU so you do not have to chop any of the cars wiring to pick up power which makes installation a doddle, it is also an additional £30. the Parrot does not require any additional leads and also has the sound coming out of the speakers and mutes the radio it is also supplied with adapter leads so there is no cutting/splicing of the origanal wires, based on this they are basically plug and play the only thing you have to do is find somewhere to hide the control unit so it is a job you can do yourself and save a few quid.

I've no experience with the Halfrauds one but i'd go for a named make personally. i have read a few reviews of the Parrot CK3100 and everyone was well impressed, it is also firmware upgradeable and has a display to tell you who is calling.

Stu - Have you managed to get a Ck3100 and installed it? How easy was it to install? I'm pretty good at sorting stuff like this out, but don't want to start cutting wires etc, does the Parrot kit come with the adaptors for the standard Leon HU?

Rob- I am waiting to see what phone I get from work before I get one, just want to make 100% sure that it is compatable before buying Parrot. From what I have read you will not have to cut any wiring as the Parrot comes with an ISO adapter lead so you unplug the ISO connectors from the Aura HU plug the loom into the loom that comes with the Parrot then plug the other end back into the Aura HU. the only other thing to do is to connect the mute lead from the Parrot control unit to pin 2 I think it is on the ISO plug on the back of the Aura HU so it will mute when an call is active. Someone will probably correct me if i'm wrong but that is what I have found out from the research I have done.

Have a look at www.parrot.biz/
and also look here for install diagrams http://www.parrot.biz/support/pdf/Pin out Seat2.pdf

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Stu.

Right, I've the option of a Parrot CK3200 or Nokia CK7W - The Nokia kit is more discreet than the Parrot, but the parrot has more functionality, any reviews on both does anyone with a Leon have the CK3200 fitted? Not sure where the display would be best placed?

Thanks for your info Stu - it's been very helpful...

No problems - I had the CK3200 instaled in the end and it's been fantastic, the only issue I had was locating the display in the Leon, not much room for choice. Ended up having a custom mount fitted under the light switch....

Hi Rob,

quick question - can the display unit for the ck3200 be easily removed for hiding/taking with you when parked?
