I went down to Premier SEAT Stoke today as i wanted have a look at the new cupra.
Firs impression i really liked the front and the rear of the car not to keen on the side on view (it was a ovni one and altho i own a ovni i didnt really like it in the MK2)
The interior i was gutted with...i like the seats but thats about it. I thought it looked a bit "cheap" and the 2 white dials and one black one, whats that all about??
Then came the drive, no doubt its fast but i didnt think it felt loads quicker than my FR...( i was expectin a rocket) however it was very nice and smooth power dilevery, also it grips well and the brakes are awesome! The sales bloke said once mapped you should be lookin at near 300BHP. Now that will be something to look forward 2!
Overall i thought it was a cool hot hatch but for almost 20K (and this is my personal opinion) i would go for the Megane R36 or the ST... :(

i test dove the red one at lc charles crewe, looked at the onvi at stoke who are 5 mins from me but if i were buying one (and i am not) if it were £200 cheaper at stoke i would still travel to crewe as the attitude at stoke really stinks just to think they were arses with me when i potentially would be spending 20k and it takes 10 mins of me looking around before i get any attention. Allways dealt with crewe since the lcr in 2002 when i was treated like shite at premier stoke and still would, the service dept is xcellent though it really is just the sales guys that have their heads up there arses and just to think most of them prob couldn't afford to spend that cash and they turn their noses up at customers

it is just beyond me why they are like they are the site they have there is tiny with nowhere to park EVER and they really think they are special, i asked him how many they had sold his answer 7 yesterday and 5 the day before....Do they really think we are that stupid, funny how lc charles hadn't sold any last week...

I settled on the the CTR mixed views i know but each to their own and all....

Going for test drive in an R26 Megane next week. This to me looks stunning and does the do too. I know everyone doesn't like the big rear end but I have always liked it and with a cracking LSD to haul it around it should be great. The R26 just seems to ooze a bit more appeal to me than the Cupra, not keen on the optional decals though.I doubt the reliability will be as good as VAG sourced stuff but I just like all I gave seen and read about it.
