thought id fit my auto gauge phanton boost gauge today.... simple.... ud think!
i found the gromit tht the bonnet release comes thru (not enough boost pipe to use the other one) got the boost pipe in (engine side) kept pushing but it neer emerged the other side!!! guesing it go bunched up but no idea how to get round this.
Then i thought ok well ill see the gauge working maybe itl enthuse me to try again, tried to get the green stopper off the factory t peice and it snapped.... leaing me with about 2 mm of plastic to push the pipe over!
Tried any way but when i boosted it on idle it only went to 2 psi and was showing -30 vac... sure it shud boost higher but is the vac normal? cud it be cos i was at a stand still and not under torque?
cudnt find a leak around the pipe but was geting dark by now so needed to plug the T-piece so i wasnt leaking boost for the time being, i popped a self tapper in it and it seems to be tight till i get a new T-piece.
Thing is i can now here what sounds like a leak from the bottom of the engine (under the car) and wondering if tht was why is wat only boosting to 2 psi...
how can i find the leak and wheres it likely to be? it sounds like its coming rite from the bottom!
last thing.... can i get another t piece n e where but seat? as my dealer only deals parts during the week and i work more than full time!
