HI all,
i have a 98 Seat Ibiza GTi2.0 16v Built Date 08/98 VIN:VSSZZZ6KZXR094374

Can Someone please tell me the part number that fit the car?

i m down to the following:

H&R CUP KIT: HR-31-013-2, wondering if HR-31-013-1 (from a polo6N) fit?
Koni Suspension Kit: 8710-1313 (front shocks) and 80-2788 (rear shocks)
or 8741-1259 (front shocks) and 8041-1179 (rear shocks)

Much appreciated.

I know that saul is right

physically you can bolt it on, but it's not right

what happens then if it is fitted?
mines seems fine, maybe its just now, what sort of things would happen if it was polo suspension on the ibiza? cheers

the polo has a narrower track, and lighter engines..... so it will not be sprung or damped correctly, or equally compared with the rear

you could try demon tweeks in the UK their export dept number is 44 1978 664461. or www.demon-tweeks.co.uk
not sure on part number but it lists 96-99 ibiza 16v gti/cuprasport at £390.00.
there may be cheaper options out there.

just got reply from demon-tweeks.co.uk. i gave all the information i have.

at first he say the koni 1130-2701 will fit. then i sent an email saying if its definitly fit as mine might have known cupra there in uk. and then he goes the kits are not suitable for the Cupra range.

i m now very confused again whether mine is Cupra or not. Do you guys have 2.0l GTi 8V there known as CUpra Sport? or CUpra Sport and 2.0 GTi 16V is the same????

i supposed the kit should fit but if i get the wrong one, i mite experience slightly higher ride height? as the 8valver are lighter???

Thanks all for help

it's fine. the suspension is based upon axle weights. manufacturers were lazy, so only labelled up one Ibiza. This is back when Ibiza's weren't commonplace too.

I have a 2.0 16v kit on my 1.6 Vario, the drop is exactly the same

now youre' just going to confuse yourself....

BUT

if your car is a 2.0 it makes not one jot of difference if the supplier says it will / won't fit a cupra

Thanks for contacting us. I have studied the latest info from the factory (ie Koni factory in Holland) received last week and there is now a reference to the Cupra however not as a Cupra Sport and even the listing that is there only suggests sport series shocks, no kits are offered and a model referred to as an 'R' is excluded altogether. The only way we would be able to arrive at a kit option for you would be to have your car in our Albury factory so as to create the kit.
======================================================

I looked again at the listing and do not think either of these kits are going to be correct. Against 1130-2701 is the express exclusion of the Cupra version and 1130-2702 is for smaller engined models. It is also the case that the shocks Koni do mention for the Cupra are different to those on any other Ibiza. This makes me think that using the other items is a recipe for disaster.

I checked the Spax listings and they have a couple of kits for Cupra models and again the shock situation is different. In those cases I would be happier using a Spax kit because they are listed for Cupra models. That way we have some back up where we will have no such back up with any Koni option at all other than the shocks alone.

Dear Sirs,

Having spoken to Koni we do not think we have a kit to fit your car.
