hi, i've read that changing the coil packs is as easy as undoing a clip and pulling them out. but the one on cylinder 4 has gone on my LCR and there are (discharge?) pipes in the way.

are these easy to get out the way, and what tools would i need? hoping i can do it on my lunch break otherwise i gotta risk the cat and drive it home where all my tools are!!

yes i've tried searching!

cheers, Adam.

just changed it, car works fine now. took 10 mins :)

thought i'd take some pics for future reference....

1. Remove engine cover - use large screwdriver (philips or flat, dont matter)

2. Undo pop-button from heat-shield cloth and just move up out the way

3. using a 10mm (M10) socket or spanner (socket with short extension probably easiest) undo the one nut holding down the black plastic tub - no idea what it is!!!

4. Move the black tub out the way (in yellow now). The clip in green wants un-doing. push sides in and pull. think it has 1 grey and 1 purple wire. Using a 5mm hex key (ones in socket a lot easier to do, may need a long extension to remove upper left one as hoses are in the way a bit) remove the 5 bolts holding the black bracket on.

5. Move the black bracket out the way (now in yellow). You can now get at the coil pack. use a flat screwdriver in the slot and pull off lead. coil pack just pulls out (twisting it left-right at same time helps).

6. Shove the new coil pack in, and assembly is reverse of removal ;)

remember to re-fit the plug you removed at step 4 (in green)!!!!!!!!!!
