There have been a number of people asking and I have hunted around on SCN for solution to Changing the Splash Screen on my RNS 510 but was not able to find it. If there is a thread i apologise, but you can have this guide as a main thread.
Firstly it is not software, it will be firmware that you will be changing, SeatCupra.net and myself (JMerrie) cannot be held responsible for any errors that this guide causes. I have used this method myself and works a treat.
1. Firstly, you will need to download or create an image of your choice which is in PNG format only and sized 800x480.
** I am happy to create or combine any images that people would like, or if they are struggling to find an image that they want i can asssit. Just PM me **
2. Go to: http://www.netdata.be/iso/index.php?
3. Select your media system type
[ Please note this guide and website is for the RNS 510 Media System ONLY ]
4. Browse and upload your selected PNG file.
5. Click create ISO
6. Burn the ISO to DVD (I would recommend DVD as I have had a couple of errors with CDs)
7. Go to your car, swich on the radio, put in the DVD and reboot your system.
[ Reboot: Setup + Eject + Voice Control ]
The system will now load your disc and write the firmware changes to it and change the splash screen ... easy as 1, 2, 3
Any questions ... just give me a shout!!
