Gti Seat height

Hey guys

Im a new owner to an ibiza cupra but not too vag cars and I have a query about the height of the drivers seat.

Is it just me or is the lowest position really high??

Compared to my mk3 golf gti it seem even in the lowest position to be too high especially at the front.


Maybe I just need to get used to it.

I have this problem. Seems really weird, I think its to do with the windscreen/dashboard. THe seats are the exact same dimensions of the Golf GTi (Believe me I've tried for a swap!!)

At a guess the mk4 Polo ones will be a little lower, BUT I'm being clever, I've got some Corrado VR6 seats that are a pretty close match to my GTi interior that I'm seeing about having the outside mounts extended

in my last cupra i had the seat on the lowest, but the car was lowered! but on my new cupra i can't have it on the lowest with standard suspension because i can't see a thing! but im 5ft 9 so not the tallest.

I'm 6'6" which isn't good when having a small car . Its akward the seating in it. The seats are crappilly designed for the car. They haven't spent much time compacting the mechnism underneath which has resulted in a gargantuan base. If and when the Corrado seats go in (getting to the point where I'm not going to care about cost) I will be a happy man!!!!

As far as GTi seats go, I don't even think they are that great either. Standard suspension + those seats + tight corners + speed = Me having to push myself off the passenger seat!!!!

I didn't even know you can change the seat height! Is this on all cupra's or just some?

Handle down the side of the seat between the seat and where handbrake is. Its more tipping you back than anything, but you do go slightly lower.

You pull a lever and it kind of rocks. Your arse gets lower and you legs higher, if that makes sence

Ahh. Ok. I know the one. I was expecting something major to raise or lower the seat lol.

This has prompted me to get a quote at lunchtime for fitting of the Corrado seats. I'll let you all know how it turns out. At a guess they are going to be a good 9 to 11 inches lower which is great for me!! I can knock the steering wheel down a touch and see the icons on the lower panel speedo display thing hehehe
