I'm in the market for a new car for my job. I'm a vet so will be doing a fair bit of farm track driving.

What's the ground clearance like on the mk 1 leons. We've got a mk2 TDi sport with the sports suspension which is obviously too low, what's the standard suspension like on the mk1?

Also will be needing a fair bit of kit in the boot. Could someone give me the width and front/back measurements of the boot?

cheers
L

would be a 1.9TDi, ideally a stylance equivalent spec if possible,

Wouldn't be going for an FR/Cupra, just upper end of the standard cars

to be completely truthful with you, if I were driving down farm tracks I wouldnt buy a mk1 having owned one - it is a fantastic car, I absolutely love it, but the suspension is pretty firm. You will be bouncing around all over the shop, let alone all the animals in the back ;) . If that doesnt botther you, then do it, it'll be fine :)

It will be equipment not animals in the boot when visiting farms I'd imagine - not even a mk1 Leon will fit a cow in the boot!!

You'll be hard pushed to kit the same equipment level as the stylance full stop on a mk1, especially if you don't want a Cupra/FR or R. As I remember, the stylance has mp3 CD, dual zone climate, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, trip computer etc etc.

The lower end mk1 models will give you radio cassette, air con front electrics windows and that's about your lot.

EDIT - would a disco or similar not make more sense?
