Call me thick if you want, but what exactly would you use to clean a Green Cotton replacement panel filter for a pd160?

I'm nearing a service on my Cupra TDI and may as well use the opportunity to stick in a better panel filter, rather than keep on sticking in SEAT ones at every service. But I just wondered if it's a case of whacking it out and using soap and water or whether it's something a bit more specialist than that...

Also, what other panel filters are available to fit the pd160 in the Ibiza Cupra? Anything better than the Green filter?

Cheers

You can buy the cleaning kits for Green Cotton filters on the green-filter website. £12.80 for the cleaning kit which contains cleaning stuff and oil. Otherwise you can probably use water and stuff to wash it.

I think the Green COtton filters are generally accepted as the best panel solution. K&N are another option but not sure how good they are.

Cheers, just gonna compare it against the price of SEAT filters to see if it's a worthwhile investment. Gotta tell the insurance company too which adds on a bit for a filter, bugger...

I dont see why you would need to tell the insurance company...its just an air filter..but not a Seat one. You wouldn't have to tell them if you changed oil filter to a Bosch one or something would you?

Why do you think a lot of people change their filter? Because an aftermarket filter like this is performance-enhancing! Hence you really should be telling your insurance company...

I'm looking at it from a saving-money point of view. Depending on how much a standard SEAT filter is, I might be better buying one I could clean at every service rather than replace the SEAT one.

When you buy the Green Panel Filter, it comes with a cleaning kit anyways.

The Green panel filter doesnt come with cleaning kit, you have to buy it separate! Coast about £10 (oil & cleaning solution).

You wont notice ny increase in performance apart from maybe a slight increase in throttle response! Worth doing if u are thinkin about a remap in the future tho! :)
