Cheers Gaz.

StealthDave, there is no problem with Polishing a new car - Manufactures original paint is fully cured and able to be polished immediately. However, if the car has been re-sprayed following say an accident then its wise to leave it to cure for upto 2 months.

www.meguiarsonline.com has alot of interesting reading re polishing and waxing new cars. ;) and the differences between pure polishes and abrasive polishes.

Thanks for comments guys..

Dave, if i get home tonight and its still light i'll take a couple of pics. They have not been cleaned since Sat and will have covered about 150miles on the A12 so you'll get an idea of what that look like when a bit grubby.

It's ok to polish a new car from what I have read. The paint on the car would of cured by the time the owner takes delivery of the car anyways and you can polish away at it with no problems.
Care has to be taken with recently resprayed or touch up parts of body work, that should only polished about 4-6 weeks after the job has been done. This will give the paint enough time to settle and cure.
