hi people. Today the long wait came to a end :funk: and i picked up the face lifted IBIZA 1.8T FR and how impressed am i ! wo hoo. I went from a Clio 172 CUP which i sold a month ago to the FR and they feel a world apart. Ive onjly had it a few hours so i cant make a complete comparison but the way the FR delivers its power is very adictive. The clio would have to be reved to about 4-5K before it went wild but its not every day you wanna do that and you just felt like idiot. But the FR has so much lower Torque and it feels easier to drive at every day conditions. Build quality is so much better to, it actually feels screwed together. And the best bit is how it looks, i thought it looked good on paper and on the comp screen but in real life its somthing eles, them wheels just sets it off. The clio was a tough act to follow as i loved that car to bits but the FR has pushed all the right buttons from the start! Am VERY pleased!

Oh a question, am only getting 25mpg without giving it beans its this normal cos its new?

I will get sum pics up as soon as.:D :D :D

St.Ives, i was there Saturday-Monday morning for a short break. Here was me thinking there were some fireworks going off 10pm sunday when infact it was your lifeboat. Any idea what the rescue was.... Apols this is a bit off-topic.

About the topic anyway, i havent worked out or looked at my mpg yet, i think its about 36 avg though urban. No comment about the colour though :p but i did test drive the red cupra...

Erm if you were worried about mpg, why didnt you go for the TDI?

I think around 25 when on short journey is about right.

but then again i am just trying to excuse myself for owning a tractor :)

welcome to the fr crowd

:D PICS: sign up for an account with Photobucket.com, upload pics, dead easy, under each pic there are three links, i just copy and paste the address and paste it straight into my posts.......

FUEL CONSUMPTION: that is about right for town driving. i also tend to find because it has a turbo i make the turbo crank up, the power is there all the time......if you drive it and not get into the power band each gear fuel consumption is a little kinder......but if you got the power use it!

my fr 20vt has now got 5k on the clock and is doing 39/40 on a long run 250 miles with the cruise set to 75 mph

round town 30/35

giving it some 22/25

so run it in jently and you will have a corker of an engine and no tractor vibrations on tickover heehee;)

mine is the same lucky to get 20 as its remapped i get about 220 to a tank and yes they are very torquey engines and do deliver the power well. the red looks great with the colour of wheels and wing mirrors!!!

If mine was for everyday use I would have got the 130pd too but as its a weekend car I went for the 20vt

when I look into it the fr 20vt is very good on the fuel considering the power (way better than my old 1.6 sport mk3)

if I'm lucky I may get to do 6k in it in the first year!..
