I'm pleased to say that I got my new car today, it's black with std wheels as I prefer it not to stand out too much. Will give it a few hundred miles before It gets fully welly but it appears pretty quick. Will be reading reviews to decide which stage 1 remap I go for.

Have never joined a site before but find it suprisingly addictive, thanks to all who contribute all the usefull info.

It's the petrol TSI / TFSI? 240. Trim is std, would have liked leather but could not afford it.

I assume that new cars today don't need running in as in old days, providing you don't push too hard initially? Would appreciate thoughts.

I think they do still need running in to a degree, when i got a new car 2 years ago it said for the 1st 1000 miles do not apply full throttle.

Also Congrats on picking up your new motor! /awaits pics!

back when i had my 08 tsi...you still have to run it in though the ecu on the engine is actually limiting the car until it reaches over 1000miles it limits the rev and speed too but this is what i experienced so once the seal is broken the car should be pretty good but until then take it easy or it will cause problems in the long run (welcome btw)

Congratulations on your new motor, It's a great feeling when you pick up your new car for the first time. My FR CRDI has just done over 1K and seems to have loosened up quite a bit, even the exhaust seems to have more of a throaty sound.

looking forward to giving it some good right foot:happy: Enjoy mate!

well VAG bench test all engines before the cars get sent out so in theory its already had a thrashing. Just dont do lenghty WOT periods untill it has a say over 500 miles on the clock, but keep it to short bursts ;)
