Hello again. Some good advice here for removing the aerial from its base.Simple really but effective. After much difficulty attempting to get mine off to replace with a smaller nicer one and tugging and pulling my guts off {yes I have some before you say it} I decided to try using a 90 degree angle jemmy bar and yes it came straight out.HEYPRESTO.Just make sure to undo the aerial totally then prise between the base and upper aerial{not car paintwork}. Lots easier than any other way I tried.

Not fitted it yet.Just wanted to be sure I could get the old one off first. The one I went for is off ebay.Just type in search for leon brass bee sting aerial.Needs to be a brass one for the reception so its a little dearer than the cheap alloy ones.Had one of the alloy ones before and reception is crap on them so tryin these, the black one I thought Id get.Chrome colour is so outdated I reckon.Looks tacky in my opinion.I will try it and let you lot know if they are as good as they say.

Yes the black one.The chrome is a very subtle touch. It arrived today.Only took a couple of days to arrive. Not had a chance to fit it on yet as I work 6 am to 6 pm.

Feels good quality though. It says on the blister packaging 100% BRASS for high performance reception, micro size aerial with the performance of normal size.Comes with 2 adaptors in pack for different size threads too.Looks as though its gonna do the job but I'm watchin footy at the minute so I not got time to fit it and go for a ride to test.

Checked it out this morning and it seems pretty good reception.Just a smidgeon of interference but the strong channels are all fine. This is as good as your gonna get for a beesting which after all is lots shorter than the original one. Well happy with it.

You need to put the correct threaded adapter on when you get it,Comes with 2 extra adapters. When you put it in the aerial make sure not to screw it all the way in to the aerial because you need a bit extra thread to reach and grip in the base.

I fitted mine today (ordered in the morning and recieved next day!) Like you said the brass aerial is much better looking and I think black looks best too. All my radio channels are fine if not a bit better I don't think the aerial improved a great amount but its better than the standard one. To get the old aerial off basically unscrew until lose then twist then pull thats it. thanks again!
