Glove appartment lock

Does anyone know where i can get a hold of a glove box lock as in the complete unit not just the lock itself. How can i change the lock so the orginal lock will fit. Thancks

you can either buy

1) complete glove box - about 180 quid

2) shutting/opening mechanism - about 40 quid.

the lock itself just pops out and into the new one, its held in by 4 small clips which need to be seperated slightly.

My shutting/opening mechnism broke at the weekend

The clips broke that hold the handle in place.....

Do you reckon the replacement should be covered under warranty? It's going in for a 70k service tomorrow morning.....

exactly the same thing happened to me a month or so back.. you need the new mechanism. Just screw the old one out and the new one in. Mine was 42 great british pounds from seat.

wouldnt of thought that will be covered under warranty though... i might be wrong though worth asking.

I managed to super glue the two peices back in so it works (for the time being, and not without supergluing my fingers together and to various other internal fixtures within my car!!).... will give it a go with the warranty slant, you never know, don't ask don't get!!
