Having some trouble getting the std HU back in place, after I needed to check the security of connections to my Nokia carkit (CK-7W via an AutoLeads adaptor) and Dension IceLink. Was checking for possibles causes to my electrical problem...

Basically the mass of cabling behind is stopping the HU clicking back into place. I'm sure a number of you have been here before, there's not much space back there!

It's nearly there, just a couple more mm needed. I know on my previous Fabia, I took out on of the airvents, which allowed me to get a hand down there and move the cabling into the far left recess and get the HU re-seated. Is this possible in the Ibiza? Do the circular vents come out? Just seems as they're recessed that it's not possible?

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks - did try this approach, has worked before, but not on this occasion sadly. Problem is that the cubby needs to be in partially inserted before the HU goes in.

So I can move the cables, but they seem to move back again when I try to put everything back in

Not sure I understand why the storage thingy has to be in but never mind.
Remove the upper glove box panel (6 torx screws).
Once that's gone you can reach behind the head unit and pull the cables out of the way.
Hope this helps.
Guy.
