Hi there, just bought a Bmc Cda on ebay for 250 euro(new).

But I'm having a bad feeling about this.

First of all:

Question: CDA not original? Check how to find out…!!!

Before buying a CDA® online, if you’re not sure about who’s selling or simply where the item comes from, use these simple control techniques to see where your CDA® comes from. The first and only product in the sector, with patent and deposited trade mark. The 4 things you can do are:
1 – Check that the trade mark BMC is visible inside the carbon cylinder, printed directly in the treated carbon itself, saying “Patented System”.
2 – Check that the trade mark BMC stand outs in the flanges (engine side and air inlet side), pressed in when moulded.
3 – Check that the CDA® box contains the accessories in a plastic bag marked BMC.
4 – Then check that all distinctive elements are present in the CDA® box (together) with their respective BMC markings, as stated in points 1,2,3.

Here are som pictures of what i've got in the box!

These lines concerns me "1 – Check that the trade mark BMC is visible inside the carbon cylinder, printed directly in the treated carbon itself, saying “Patented System”. "

I really cant see that Patented System inside the cylinder from the MAF side.

What do you people think of it?

it looks very similar to mine. but i've never had the reason to think that it wasn't a genuine filter

The only thing I'm really concerned about is, that I cant see the "Patented System" inside the cylinder from the MAF side.

Which it seems like I should, regarding to Bmc's website.

Are you looking in the right place? You took lots of pictures of inside the filter, but none inside the carbon fibre cylinder?

Anyway, look genuine to me.

I'm glad to hear that all you guys says it's genuine!

Feel:
I have a EOS 400 D and I can't take any pictures inside the filter.

I've been using a flashlight and my eyes to look inside the filter. And the "Patented System" is not written anywhere.

I have an overall good felling right now. I just cant understand why the "Patented System" isnt on the inside, if it really is a genuine filter.

Unfortunately there are some very good copies knocking about and they come with the genuine stickers, plastic bags etc...

I've contaced BMC Italy. But they havent turned back yet. I contacted the dealer, which says the got it from the distributor. So I asked him to send them these pictures and make a plan!

I will take action against this! I bought a Bmc cda because I wanted the real deal, not some china copy!

And to you guys with similar ones, disassamble it and check it out! You cant just accept that someone tries to fool ya!
