Gearknob Query

Can somebody enlighten me & point me in the right direction.
I’ve been reading so many threads about this, I’m now really confused

I’m after the 6-speed SEAT Sport gear knob for my 2002 Leon Cupra.
This is the part number for the knob 5P1064320A, but because it’s for the new Leon my dealer says it won’t fit.

Is he correct ?
Or is there a different part number for the older shape Leon’s ?

I have the Carbon/Leather one on mine, you shouldn't have any worries I think, unless anyone else says otherwise.

Thanks mate I'll give the dealer a call to get one in.
If it doesn't fit I can act stupid & get a refund.

(They obviously didn't change the gear selector shaft on the new Leon. The dealer can be bit clueless on matters of car part sharing)

It should fit on the shaft, however i think you will also need the plastic bit that you cant see that clamps the gaitor to the knob.
This guide should explain what i mean, you can see it in step 3.

You will need that to suit the new knob as the base of the new one is at an angle whereas the existing knob is parallel
