Just out of interest, am i right in thinking that the FR tdi is geared different to my sport. If so do the FR's not wheel spin as much in first??

erm its torquey dont get me wrong like a tdi torque wise but still likes to be redlined and kept above 4k rpm best of both styles of driving really, but ive forgot what standard one is like tbh only has it 3 months through winter and left tc on so never knew what it was like ragging it about

Wet driving

In the wet Gaz mine is all over the place, that equals really boring for me lol. Is yours bad in the wet??

mine is shall we say fun but slower but ive got over 90bhp more than standard and over 100ftlb more torque than standard. but tc works better in the wet. its not al over the place really just if you ask for to much power you go nowhere

mine is a standard fr 20vt apart from air box/intake mods, it is very good low down for a petrol and likes to go to 6k revs when I'm in the mood

it is able to go round roundabouts and t junctions that are empty in 3rd at adout 12 mph, then floor it and be over 70 without changing gear

torque steer wise it only does it on uneven or wet roads, in the dry it takes off perfectly straight with a hint of blended wheelspin and no wheels banging if you know what I meen

does that help ya

edit,

and I can get low 40's to the gallon on a long motorway run with the cruise set to 75, blatting it around town and it's like 28 to the gallon

heehee, I have only ever taken her to just over 70 in 3rd

so what is the vmax top speed of the fr 20vt in real life, is it more than what the book says (134) or is it a little more ?

i thik it will say 140 on speedo but thats about 135 in real life and i dont think standard its got the power to pull past about 5.5k rpm, ive calculated that if i can redline mine in 5th which i think it will, spedo will be saying just over 150. so prob about 145
