Gearbox vibration

Any one have any thoughts / experience of this:

On starting the car some mornings I get heavy resonance through the gear stick. Its not in gear, sitting in the normal neutral position. If I flick the stick either right or left still in neutral it eventually goes away after 2-3 tries. This occasionally happens at the end of journeys as well (i.e. when returned to neutral). (Happens with clutch up or down, worse with clutch up.) Don't get me wrong the gearbox seems to function normally, its just getting me curious as to what this may develop into.

Edit, a hint of pressure on the gear stick to either side stopps the vibration, as does a hint of accelerator. Clutch up or down has no effect (correction to earlier). Should I consider this as normal? Could it simply be that the idle tick over is too low?

Can't say I do, :)

Althought I do drive a lot of windy roads so am constantly changeing gear. :drive1:

Think I did see a warning about resting ure hand on the stick but have always been schooled that it was a bad thing so avoid it.
U cant really rest ure hand on the stick with the centre arm rest installed on my car anyway...but thanks for the responce...any other thoughts?
