Gear stick not centralising

Just picked up a 51 plate ibiza cupra. Immaculate with one owner, completely standard and a folder full of receipts.

The only thing thats annoying me at the minute is the gear stick doesnt centralise so going from 2nd to 3rd is a bit annoying as there is no assistance as such to get it across.

Anybody else had this? is it just sticking or is there a spring i should be looking for?

The spring that centralises it is inside the gearbox so doubt it would be that might just be worth greasing the shifter linkages and cables.
