When I first got the galfer pads and noticed the scoring I rang them and they said if was due to the disks and they had probably not run in right???

Now every one else seems to have had the same problem but only with galfer pads etc

has anyone gone back to galfer and got a responce?

Galfer need a set of scored discs to look at and pos send to spain! I cant afford new discs this close to xmas but if anyone can send them a set with pads maybe then they can come up with an answer. iirc galfer pads need no run in apart from gentle braking for 150 miles ish slowly building heat etc!

Galfer pads

Hi again,stpete,
Ihave just posted on another thread regarding the pads -but if allelse fails I heve a few sets left that could be analised to find out if there is a problem in the compound that is making this happen if no joy from Galfer /Leda.
I have galfer discs and pads and they are Fu**** after 3700 miles.
£600 up the spout.
And If we get any more crap that it doesnt happen on any other make of car then there must be a problem with our batch or that Galfer has had a major **** up with compounds.
I still have had no reply from Leda in regards to the e-mail I sent them over a month ago now.

Now that make me laugh at lunch today Mat at galfer said he had replied to you so I'm startin to worry about there commitment to quaility! All he really wanted to do was blame our discs ie not heat treated properly or soft, tried to point out that he boasted at Autosport to me that galfer make oem discs but he shrugged that off sayin seat could have bought in from elsewhere!

He told me Galfer supplied SEAT with the orginal disks when I got my pads and hen I mentioned the scoring he enquired if he could sell a new pair to me direct to find out they could not due to contracts etc. with SEAT.

If anyone does send them disks just send one, keep the other for your records/independant tests if necessary

oh I dont doubt Galfer make oem discs but when this is pointed out in response to them blaming our discs they just blame Seat saying they may have sourced elsewhere for a batch, I then pointed out our cars are over a range of years! Then they just tell me I need to return discs!! I wonder tho is it just 1055 compound or others? I dont believe its discs cos Quattro's extreme discs are scored!!!!

won't skimming take the discs past their minimum thickness? i was under the impression that the minimum is 26mm, thats not a lot of wear when they're only 28mm brand new!

The disks on LCR are Brembo.... look like brembo's come with exact same grey primer as brembo's.
