Can anyone tell me the location of the G83 coolant temperature sensor on a CAGA 2lt TDI engine? please
I think the answer is no! after 356 views and not a reply. I have located the sensor on the rear of the engine below the vacuum pump (CAGA engine code) the sensor is screwed into a pipe so you will need a deep bi-hex 17mm socket to remove/replace it. Remove the fuel filter and bracket to see the location, part id 059 919 523A just make sure it is the one shown as they do supply the wrong one sometimes.
EDIT, It was not the sensor that was the problem, the wiring is very tight and the ground wire (Brown/Blue) had broken cores causing intermittent too high temperature readings. I attached a wire to the plug and grounded it on the bulkhead, all perfect now.
