Hey folks,

Can anyone whos had a G201 pressure sensor fault repaired free or had a refund post their mileage and the year of the car?

Seat dealer told me mine wont be covered due to mileage (83k I think, mibbie 87k). They couldn't actually produce the paperwork confirming this as they couldn't find it... Gonna chase with CS later + will report back.

pissed off

I'm sure Seat UK will sort it out for you and hopefully have a few strong words with the dealer

Had mine done when it was over 100000 miles on a 56 plate. Don't get it serviced by seat and didn't buy it from that dealership and had it fixed. Get seat uk to sort them out, they will phone the dealership and make them do the work. Or better still find another dealership

Cheers tundra, thats exactly the kind of thing i was looking for - mines 56 and 83k, partial seat history and not bought from them.

Chasing shortly, hopefully be a kicked dealer ass, will report back!

They are on my doorstep, otherwise I would go elsewhere, but kinda want them to do it now!

You got your done quite recently didn't you tundra? Dealer telling me 6 year cut off, seat said no limit, but dealer blaming seat for not giving them authorisation to do it. All a mess.

Sorry this is covered in 2 threads btw

Yeah only got mine done a couple of months ago and mines a 56 plate with over 110000 miles on it. I wouldn't trust that dealer now and call seat uk back letting them know how bad the dealer is. Really milk it. The dealer isn't in a position to say what can and can't be done. They claim all their money back from seat uk.

So, dealer is wrong or talking out their... Either that or yours shouldn't have been free, which I doubt!!!

They've said Seat wont approve it as its outwith the 6 years. The woman practically shouted at me when I said customer service said it was covered "Right! I'm not playing this game, they told us etc etc blah..."

I'll direct the other thread here rather than doubling replys...

Nothings ever simple is it

If you ring seat uk at tell them everything in sure they will sort everything out and put the dealer in their place.
Myself I would have phoned seat uk in the showroom and handed the staff my phone.
Seat uk were more than helpful and said it didn't matter how old the car was etc.
If the dealer is so unwilling to help I dread to think what the quality of their work is like. Best find another dealer even if it means travelling

Have just rung SEAT UK about this issue and they said they don't know anything about it?! Don't have any fault like that showing on their computer. Can anyone give me any more details?

I had mine done not long ago mate. As long as the dealer confirms the error as being the G201 fault SEAT UK (not the dealer) will cover the cost. Don't give up.

Mine got done after a LOT of messing about. It was all franchised dealer issues, seat UK were grand, and did eventually step it to set the dealer straight. Mine was the expensive option too, not repair kit, so its not just the cheap(er) one that gets covered. Stick at it.

Having problems with both dealer and Seat UK. Dealer has told me G201 and either a £250 "repair kit" or £800 "full fix". Do you know what the difference is and why they did the full option?

For some reason when Seat UK called the dealer they told them it was a "blocked ABS valve" even though all they did was plug in the computer. Could really do with going to another dealer as I can't figure out why they would tell me one thing and Seat UK another.

Any dealer names or people at Seat UK (PM might be best) that can help much appreciated.

Most annoying thing is I had it fixed on an older Leon a few years back out of warranty by another dealer before I moved house (they have now gone).

As you will know it's best to contact customer services first and they will give you an authorisation code for the dealer. Have you had the fault read yourself? Is it definitely the sensor? If it is try and get a printout of the error report and send that on to customer services yourself? Maybe also try clearing codes then going to a different dealer? I know it's a pain. If customer services weren't on my side there was no way the dealer I went to would have done it. They flat out called my a liar when I kept insisting it was covered, no apologie in the end or anything.

It was more expensive as I believe there can crack the box open and just replace the front half with all the sensors, but it might not come away properly and damage the rest of the unit so whole thing needs replaced. *I think*.

If your in Edinburgh it was seafield Arnold Clark that was difficult with me.

Surprised your having trouble with seat uk but if they think it's something else that would explain it.

The code shows as:

1 Fault Found:
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

Is that the same thing?

Not the one I had, but that's not too say it's not covered - I think I had implausible signal error. You can go into measuring blocks and see the actual sensor readings and they were clearly wrong for me!

I lied to you, sorry. Just found my old logs and I had the electrical fault code too. If it's any use I spoke with a Natalie Lamb at seat, but that was 2 years ago now... Hope that helps
