Hi guys, i know this is covered in the FAQ section but iv already posted there a little while ago when i started to have the problem and now its get really bad and melted the whole fuse.
There was no real definate answer to why this is happening, has anyone sorted it themselves?
replacing the fuse wont stop the problem, iv changed it 2 or three times, but now theres no fuse left! The whole fuse and the bit where it sits has literally melted, i could smell burning in the car so i jumped out to check it and it had gone!
Yeah it controls the fans. That pics nothing dude, should've seen mine when it melted!! The whole corner of the unit had melted away, think I was lucky not to have a fire start! Obviously had to replace it, costs about £40-50 iirc?
Im going to go and buy a fuse board tomorrow and a few fuses. Cant afford to shell out for the fans.
From what iv gathered from the FAQ thread is that its something wrong in the fuseboard.
But it could also be the fans overloading the circuit, but this should just pop the fuse not cause it to go into meltdown (as the fuse is there to stop that)
Wouldn't have thought u need to replace the actual fans? Haven't heard it go that far anyway? I had to order the part in as it wasn't available off the shelf, so expect a week or so waiting time. But the again this was at Milron Keynes and they are positively poor!!
i got my replacement board from MK Seat as well, they had to order in, took 4 days i think, this was in the summer some time ago and had to run around without cooling fans for a few days, luckily i didnt get stuck in traffic. I think all dealers would need to order this part in though.
