hi all, ive just started to fit my p-flo kit to my AUQ cupra, im no mechanic and have been looking forward to fitting this, trouble is ive just encountered a small problem when trying to remoe the MAF, it seems to be held in place by 2 'screws' but i have never seen a head like them before! they look like thay have five lugs within the head but then there is a central 'pin' which is is preventing me from removing them with the limited tools i have to hand. does anyone know what tool i need or indeed what these screw heads are called please? many thanks indeed.

They're Torx Security screws. I got a set of "Laser" branded bits from my local Halfords. Beware if ordering online, most Torx Security screws are the 6-pointed star ones, so worth popping down to Halfords to make sure you're getting the right thing :)

hi mate, thanks very much for the reply! i actually went to halfrauds today and got a ratchet socket set to do the job, it contains a selection of 'bits' T10 to T40,but as you say they dont include the one i need! so do they actually do different torx heads then? i'll nip down again tomorrow i think and ask, thanks again mate, all the best.

i just wish they hadnt used torx screws on the maf, i cant understand the reason behind it!!

thanks, roper20v.

it turned out i didnt need to remove those torx screws after all, i rang awesome where i bought the p-flo, and i asked if it should come off, they told me to run the car to them and they would loosen the screws for me, so i popped down (i had bought a torx set for the pin headed screws the day before from halfrauds- but they were the wrong ones!)
the lad at awesome said that the screws didnt need to come out, as the p-flo assembly just bolted to the face where the air box was, so i returned home and sorted it out.

all fitted and very impressed with the kit, it sound nice, much better than standard airbox. i returned the torx set to halfrauds and picked up a professional range socket set instead for a similar price. Thanks for the help all.
