Hi all, I am new to the world of Seat. I just picked up a 65 plate Leon ST 1.4 FR 150 Tech. It has Navi System Plus installed, and there is an icon to select Full Link in the menu, but it says I need to activate it.

Now I know there are other threads here about this, but I haven't really sussed out a definitive answer on what is needed. Am I to understand that all I need to do is contact Seat for an activation CD or SD card or something? There is talk about costs on these forums of anything from £150 to £300! Which seems a bit steep for what seems to be a simple software upgrade or electronic key file reading.

Can anyone offer any insight from experience on this?

Great car though! My previous was a 1.8 petrol Mondeo Estate, which I loved, although it was very slow, so this new car flies compared to that!

Hi there and welcome. It's a trip to the dealer to hand over cash of about £150 and they will update the software for you and activate full link.

Wouldn't bother tbh I never use it as it cuts out all the time. Not really worth the money imo

Mine has worked perfectly since day one. Both on Carplay or Android auto. Only downside is having a cable permanently plugged in.

I don't bother using it on mine. It's a pain to plug in the USB cable all the time and it doesn't really offer many benefits apart from apple maps which is rubbish anyway.

It simply doesn't really offer anything that you can't already do. You can stream music via Bluetooth and the car has built in sat nav, albeit Google maps has more traffic updates and route calculation, that's the only bonus, until it cuts out of course!!!!

Just use Full Link for Google maps in truth. Don't connect it every time but I've never had it repeatedly cut off like above.

If Seat were to upgrade their map provider there wouldn't be any need really as all the OEM integration is good.

Okay, thanks a lot guys. A lot to ponder there. I guess the question is if CarPlay is upgraded as time goes on with firmware updates etc. I am getting a bit fed up of seeing "this device is incompatible" when I plug in the USB for charging though!
