i have read quite a few threads on exhausts on TDi's, so many that i am now a little confused!

IIRC the back box is very restrictive on the PD130bhp TDi and obviously so is the CAT.

i was thinking of purchasing a full turbo-back decat milltek system, but recently remember reading a post saying that the bigger dia. bore down pipe will increase torque but will infact reduce bhp!!!

as i have had my car remapped to about 285 ft/lb's and the standard clutch won't handle much more and adding to that to much isn't going to be good for the clutch!

i was ideally hoping to increase bhp, is this possible by just getting a CAT-back system and keeping the CAT on to keep a control of the torque?

I'm not sure on any of this but one thing I do remember is something like getting a custom exhaust made that's just straight through, is the best way forward on the TDi's.

I would go for a non-cat pipe with a backbox.

Any reduction in back-pressure will alter the spooling charicteristics of the turbo (faster)

Bhp can be considered an 'aftereffect' of torque. lol

I have a full milltek and have never noticed a loss of power and I have been on plenty of rolling roads.
