I'm fitting a 2001 ibiza cupra (AYP) engine into a mk2 golf. I've used an ibiza loom and ancilaries, I'm ready to try starting the engine but i'm havinga problem with the fuel pump.
The pump will not pump when fitted to the loom, (the pump works when tested on 12v PSU), and the level sensor works correctly.
I've metered out the pump connections and found i'm only getting 1.8V across the pump connections.
This remains constant i.e ignition on or off, and no change when turning the engine.

Can anyone tell me what could cause this?
I've had vag-com connected and it shows no immobiliser faults, could this still be a factor?
Is there a dedicated fuel pump relay, and if so what number is on the casing?

Any help would be gratefully recieved

Cheers Andy

pm or put a thread in a guy called ibizacupra's section (bager5 on the trading area) or hooch, they may be able to help you out.
