Picked up my new Leon cupra last night its a met blue 02 1.8T completly standard at the moment :(

I've just rang seat [dad has account at work] to order oil, filters , plugs etc cause I want to make sure its all 100% ........I tried to order a fuel filter to but the chap at Seat garage said the fuel filters on the 1.8T leons are lifetime and never need changing?

Is that right? seems a bit strange to me?

Just come off the phone to Bill at Badger who's sending me a nice green filter element and I've just ordered a Forge 007 Valve to....I've only had it 14hrs

I was wondering this as well.

No mention of it in my service book in the schedule of what should be carried out and when, only for diesel engines.

I also have a Haynes Golf IV manual which covers the 1.8T AUQ engine and again no mention of needing to do a fuel filter change as part of a service.

Suppose it can't hurt though as they're cheap to buy.

Yeah bet mine has never been changed as previous owner always took to Seat to service and I'm now just over 60k so think I'll get it changed next service...

Nah mate a friend of mine has his own garage... was going to get him to do an oil and filter and brake fluid change in the next week or so, so I reckon I'll get him to change the fuel filter while he's at it.
