I am thinking of getting a Leon FR or a cupra. Having drove a diesel version i was well impressed for this model.Does anyone know the average mpg for the petrol version and the diesel (pd ) version. Thanx.
I think the book for the petrol cupra says something like 32mpg but I'm currently getting mid to high 20s on my run to and from work (8 miles mix of dual carriageway and urban). Which is a bit cr@p.
If I'm super careful on a long m-way run I can average 40mpg (sitting at 70ish). But, if I go out for a proper thrash the average can drop down to the teens.
No idea about the oil burner, I'm afraid...
In my petrol cupra I got around 30 to 35 mpg and in the oil burner anywhere between 40 and 50 depending on how "carefully" I drive. On a particularly careful run I've had 650mls out of a tank before!! Basically you can thrash the hell out of it and still return more miles than a petrol driven carefully It's a trade off. Very slightly less fun but lots more peace of mind and money for the pub AND LOADS OF TORQUE......
