Fuel cap

An absolute noob question, I had 28p off a litre of petrol at tesco so of course I filled it to the absolute gunnels untill it was in my hands and on the ground! Question is I don't seem to have a fuel cap.. Just the wee door that opens.. Is this the same as everyone else's? Car was brand new when I bought it so I'm hoping it hasn't been nicked at the dealership!

Thanks!

It's a bit late in the day for April fools jokes! You should definitely have a fuel cap that is connected to the rim of the fuel tank with a little plastic strip so you can't lose it.

Just a point about filling it to the very top in the summer on a hot day. If you continue to fill it after the automatic stop, you are actually filling the expansion space and run the risk of ???????????

How did you get 28p a litre off at Tesco? The promotion they are running is a max of 20p!! I got 8p off after spending £200 and thought I was doin well:blink::censored:

I didn't actually understand it myself, it was my dads clubcard and he said it had to be used by the end of the day, just on the fuel cap thing I got one! It says diesel but my car is the 1.4 lol good luck to the next owner!

Forget the petrol cap, I want to know how much boot space you have with a fuel tank big enough to let you drive 1500 miles before filling up?!?

In all seriousness a new cap is required, but good luck trying to convince the dealer/seat that it's been missing since delivery...
