I just added some Forte diesel fuel system cleaner to my car and I am quite surprised by the noticeable extra little torque and smoothness. Thanks to Ebay, you can get this stuff quite cheap and it is made better by the fact that 1 bottle can last 2 tank loads.

Does anyone know if there will be a negative impact if this is used quite regularly?

Thanks.

I used the Millers Power Plus in my Ibiza combined with BP Ultimate (I wasn't paying for fuel) for ages and never had any problems. Okay, not really a scientific test, but still...

Is Millers a pure power boosting product or is it a cleaner?

From their website...

Description
A highly efficient fuel treatment to add to diesel fuel to enhance combustion and performance.

Application
Added to diesel fuel to provide an increase in cetane number and to maintain injector cleanliness. Also contains a fuel pump lubricant enhancer.
Use applicator bottle. One measure (20mls) treats 20 litres of diesel fuel.

User Benefits
*Improves combustion leading to higher power output and reduced fuel consumption.
*Lowers emissions - especially important at MOT time !
*Prolongs fuel pump life even when running on low sulphur fuel

Looks like a bit of both really.

I use Millers too. 1 bottle (500ml) treats 500 litres of diesel and I've found a really good increase in fuel economy using it. Basically over a bottle I reckon I save about £30 on diesel for the whole 500 litres of diesel bought.... At about £8 a bottle, you can't really go wrong.

On older engines it does work as a cleaner too I believe, but for me its an economy booster and a slight (maybe just placebo) performance booster. Supposed to boost cetane, but I wouldn't be able to tell a 2 to 3 hp increase when I'm pushing the power I am.

I'm also interested to know if 5 litres is cheaper than 10 x 5l, which would be about £80. :) Although how long would it take to use 5000 litres of diesel? LOL. :D
