Well, finally (and I do mean finally) the whole engine side loom is out of the car.

Everything I need from the fusebox back is out now. doesn't look that daunting (given that I took it out it helps...)

THe reason it's taken me so long is the healing time from slicing my hands open each time I start on it

Going to clean myself up and get the images up

Getting the engine out is going to be a walk in the park now!

Tidier engine bay now devoid of wiring loom - only about 4 bolts (lol) and it'll be empty

Engine wiring loom (fusebox connects to the coloured parts in the top left)

Fuse box end (no two connections the same, so not hard work to reassemble)

does the wife not mind so much you keeping that around

whats the plan? the 16v going into the vario?

She's very tolerant! but it's ok really.

The Vario's *probably* getting the 16v - if not the 16v is funding a 20VT

But given that I've taken all the wiring out of the 16v I know it's all there, which sometimes isn't the case if you buy a loom from elsewhere.

SHould make an amusing track tool though - just need to think up some suitable badging

do you have to injure yourself every time you open a tool box mark?
That's my trick. Guaranteed in the first 10 mins of any job I injure myself, once that's out of the way I can continue, fearlessly, knowing no more injuries will become me....

Haha.. that's what you'll want. Onlookers will gawp in amazement at your driving skill, 'That guy really knows how to carry the momentum of the raging 64 horses under the hood'

Interesting amount of gubbings for the AC, wont be needing all that when I get around to TB's

looks like its not long befoe you start diesecting it better get in the and rescue the bonnet before it becomes 'postable'

Rock on:)

Stu, I removed most of the AC pipework last year (or was it the one before) just not the stuff under the dash

If you're serious about getting rid, then obtain a 1.4 pov spec setup, so you can still use the fan, and loose the condenser.

si-mate - me too! I miss my 16v engine, no problems with MAF's or ECU resets

certainly a lot tidier with none there, but the dash frame is not easy to get out without bending!
