Front Wishbones

Guys,

This weekend i'll be mostly replacing both front wishbones, with new bushes.....:p

My question is.......Haynes says that the Pivot bolt at the front of the wishbone should be replaced when the wishbone is replaced.....?

Is this a haynes 'totally safe' you don't really need to do thing or should i get new ones???

Would the local dealer stock them? I know ECP don't.

Help appreciated!

Cheers!

IMHO, it's better to be safe than sorry, so I wouldn't reuse them. I doubt they're expensive when compared to the cost of having one fail. It's unlikely that your local stealer will have them in stock, but should be able to get 'em next day.

Never replaced them yet but may start after reading this, do you know that the wishbones are the same as MK2 Golf!

They are.

£18 from ECP with bushes fitted

The bolts are seriously 'hard' to get out, so no doubt will have been strained
